Anoushka Shankar is a Brit-American sitarist and musician. She was among the youngest and first female to win the British House of Commons Shield she has had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and be a presenter for the awards ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is the hottest young star of sitar music. Indian sitar. She is a scholar and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. Her birthplace was London in 1982. During during her early years, she swam her time between London New Delhi. At the age of 13 the first time she performed was in New Delhi took place. Later she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school and graduated with distinction in 1999. The career of Anouskha as a performer and recorder is remarkable, even at her young age. She is often seen performing with her dad and has been doing so for a long time years. In 1998, she debuted her first solo album Anourag. The Grammy Award-winning live at Carnegie Hall was released two years after her debut solo album. Stage performances are a large part of her career. She has performed in a variety of famous venues around the globe. Anoushka Shakar's career isn't just limited to music. In 2002, she released the book Bapi The Love of My Live this is an illustrated biography that is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. in 2003 she was a part as a character in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka is continuing to advance in her career and will surely be more things to come from this talented lady. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her early days in London, Delhi and California. She began learning music when she was nine years old and performed on the sitar for the 75th anniversary of her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka gained a lot of experience by touring around the globe with her father. She performed at Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival.
